Christmas in Sixth Class by Bonnie and Grace

Christmas at Killygarry

by Grace and Bonnie

Last week we started decorating our classroom we recieved a pop up tree from Ms Prior and Alicja generously made a star for the top of the tree whilst we were decorating we had our hot chocolate party for getting 2000 Dojo points!! We warmed up the milk throughout the day in the slow cooker. Diane kindly went out and bought hot chocolate from Chapter 1 for all of us!

These past few weeks we have been doing samba. On Tuesday we will be recording our samba performance while wearing Christmas jumpers. We've really been enjoying samba so far!

We have been working on cards for Castlemanor for a few days now and on Tuesday we sent them off. We'e wrote a little message in the card wishing them a safe and happy Christmas!

On the 22nd Santa will be visiting the school. All the classes will get a visit from Santa. We're all so excited!!

On Monday we watched a live stream of a Christmas Mass. Fr Peter said the mass, he talked about Advent and preparing for Jesus coming since advent means coming. He wore purple vestiments to symbolise the purple candle on the advent wreath. He prayed for all the staff, teachers and students of  Killygarry. The Nativity scene was up on the Altar.

We can't wait to get our Christmas holidays on Tuesday!

6th Class Confirmation 2022

Congratulations to all the 6th class pupils who received their confirmation on Saturday, 26th March. They were all fantastic and the weather was amazing for their very special day. Celebrations continued on Monday in school as the pupils visited the younger classes and showed off their stylish outfits. They also spoke to the younger children about confirmation and explained the sacrament to them. It was another sunny day on Monday so a lot of the day was spent outside enjoying the weather and chatting about their celebrations on Saturday. 6th class were also treated to a party with a delicious cake, cups of tea and sweets. Everyone had a great day and enjoyed the celebrations! Ms McMahon was also surprised with a fabulous bunch of flowers and buns and would like to thank all the 6th class pupils for organising that, a very thoughtful bunch!

GAA Coaching by Zoe Neylon

I am in 6 th class in Killygarry N.S Recently we have been doing gaelic training at school. It is good because Gaelic and lots of other sports have stopped since it is winter so it is good timing to say the least. Our coach is called Karen, she is a very good and fun coach . We do some drills and training and sometimes we would play a match. I really enjoy the matches, sometimes we would have to split the class up into groups of 3 or 4 since in our class we have 32 students. The matches are definitely my favourite. The whole class really enjoys Gaelic training as part of our Wednesday!
