Project Work

This is something the whole family can get involved in 😃

Project

You will design, plan and build a model of one of the following: a famous landmark, stadium, bridge or boat. You can choose to either create your own model or base it on something that already exists (or a bit of both!). You can create it using Lego, wood, straws, recycled material or any material you want to use.

The research part of your project can be typed, created on PowerPoint, placed in a scrapbook or in a copy. If you choose to type your project, you can email it to me emcdonald@killygarryns.ie

Must include the following research

  • ·         A drawn plan of your initial ideas
  • ·         Outline why you choose this model to build
  • ·         A design of the actual model with steps on how you plan to build it
  • ·         A list of material you are planning to use
  • ·         A set of instructions of how you built it (written after you have it built)
  • ·         An evaluation (were you successful, did you have to add any extra materials as you went along, is there anything you would change, did you enjoy creating it)
  • ·         You can add pictures of the different stages of your model to your project.

Be creative as you and have fun making it J

Please remember to bring your research and model to school with you when we are back.

6th Class Confirmation 2022

Congratulations to all the 6th class pupils who received their confirmation on Saturday, 26th March. They were all fantastic and the weather was amazing for their very special day. Celebrations continued on Monday in school as the pupils visited the younger classes and showed off their stylish outfits. They also spoke to the younger children about confirmation and explained the sacrament to them. It was another sunny day on Monday so a lot of the day was spent outside enjoying the weather and chatting about their celebrations on Saturday. 6th class were also treated to a party with a delicious cake, cups of tea and sweets. Everyone had a great day and enjoyed the celebrations! Ms McMahon was also surprised with a fabulous bunch of flowers and buns and would like to thank all the 6th class pupils for organising that, a very thoughtful bunch!

GAA Coaching by Zoe Neylon

I am in 6 th class in Killygarry N.S Recently we have been doing gaelic training at school. It is good because Gaelic and lots of other sports have stopped since it is winter so it is good timing to say the least. Our coach is called Karen, she is a very good and fun coach . We do some drills and training and sometimes we would play a match. I really enjoy the matches, sometimes we would have to split the class up into groups of 3 or 4 since in our class we have 32 students. The matches are definitely my favourite. The whole class really enjoys Gaelic training as part of our Wednesday!
